SALE !!!!!!!

I think a sale is in order, so on Friday August 26th come on in and mention the words "Brown Sheep" and you will get 35% off your entire yarn purchase....YAY I want to apologize for anyone who has tried to come into the parking lot or anyone who has suffered as a result of the construction. It will be great when it is finished but it is just a little tad wee bit agitating and dusty :) I do have a heddle loom, with a stand and it is large, a singer knitting machine with ribber, for sale.

I will now be carrying Universal Yarns, and I have ordered but as of today it hasn't arrived but it's only been a couple of days, hehehehe. Hope to see you on Friday but of course any day is fine.

November Late Issue

Whew alot has been going on lately so yes I am very late with this Newsletter but honestly I have felt this past two weeks like the absent minded professor....as always too much to do and so little time. I have a bit of very exciting history to share about Elko County and wool. Some of you may very well know all of this but I figured there might be some who do not or may have wondered about it here it is:

There were alot of sheep in this area and I thought what did they do with all of it ? I did a little bit of research and did not find a wool mill or anything about anyone spinning it for weaving so this led me to our museum where I found out exactly what was done with it. The sheep were sheared, it was loaded into bags, put on the train and sent back east for processing. Which may sound a little bit boring until I was told how much....Ellison Ranching owned 2 percent of Nevada's total sheep. In 1913 an entire train was needed to haul 29,320 wool fleeces that was sold to the Knight Woolen Mill for around $30,000.00 which wasn't a bad amount back then.

Fall Newsletter

It’s here !!!! I have the “Mini Me” pattern book for kids and all the
yarn to got with it. These are soo cute and just in time to get ready
for gifts. And then I have added Patons stretchy socks to the mix it feels soo
nice and a free pattern for knee socks to got with it.The whole Month of October
you will get 15 % off browns, oranges, rust, and reds or basically the very pretty
fall colors (no green is not included sorry) so stop by for best selection.

What is so cute about the "Mini Me" is there is a doll and a teddy bear that

what they are wearing.

October 23rd a Saturday, will be open from 12:30 until ? Will be doing a class using the
Aunt Philly Rug patterns. How much ? $12.00 gets you a pattern, the needle and my instructions,
you will need to provide your own fabric of your choice, you can use stuff you have
laying around. ****BEFORE**** you come to class you will need to rip your fabric.
These instructions are in the pattern but you can stop by my shop and I will show you
how to do it. Be there or be square or round.

Correction to Sock Tips

Fall is coming and a word about toe up socks

BRRRR it's been a little bit chilly in the am for the past couple of days but I am sure it will certainly climb back up there in temperature for a few more weeks. New stuff has arrived: Susan Bates steel hooks in all sizes, Sugan N Creme cotton yarn, Bernat Baby Jacquards yarn, Pattern books: Patty Cake, Color me Cute, Precious, Spa, and Dishcloths, several new free pattern leaflets. Hopefully arriving this week Kraemer Yarns.

I can't believe it is almost that time again for hats, scarves, gloves, and Socks. Yep I figured in this issue I would include what I like to refer to as my "no fail recipe" or maybe it should be called "sock tips" either way here are my suggestions and yes they have been tested by not only myself but also by several customers.
