Persian Silk Crochet Bag

The lovely Persian colors are among the most favored for bags as well as for feminine accessories of all kinds. The handsome bag illustrated shows the beautiful effects that may be evolved with Corti¬celli Persian Crochet Silk. Five colors, red, blue, black, green, and white, are woven together in this silk, from which may be fashioned Persian dress trimmings, collar and cuff sets, sashes, bands, etc., that, if purchased in the shops, would call for an exorbitant price but which may be made at home with little expense.
The bottom of this bag is made of the Persian crochet and the top is of Corticelli dress silk, black with a Persian stripe, shirred to the crochet with a narrow head¬ing. Green silk draw cords run through colored glass rings, and a ring and tassel finish the bottom of the bag. The model is unlined, and measures about 14 inches without the tassel.

At the bottom of this hem, on the outside, fasten eight small glass rings of different colors, and through these rings run the green cord. This will leave the heading extending about two inches above the rings. The bag should be about 18 inches in circumference on top of the crocheted part.
