Crochet Queens

I had the pure pleasure of going out to my new friends house and she has goats and 2 sheep.  Oh they were so cute and I really liked the goats alot.  I am thinking of getting angora goats but want to know more about them before I do, wouldn’t want to do something harmful to them, but oh I really enjoyed them.  They are really cute and cuddly and now I am really thinking of getting some, I like them.

I will be the first to admit, I am NOT the brightest crayon in the box but eventually I figure it out, hehehehe.  I have been doing several craft shows for the past 3 years, same ones every year and honestly I just can’t do them and online at the same time so since I do have alot more fun online, the craft shows had to go.  I did my last one this past weekend and I can’t tell you what a relief it really is to know I won’t be doing any more, WHEW.  Now I can concentrate more on this site and my other 2 sites and honestly I am more excited about that so I will go with it, right ??  I do have a few more submissions for the Fall issue but of course will take more and I am thinking that I will include several patterns for crocheted food, as that is what I am working on right now for my beautiful Grand Daughter, whom I adore.  I did notice there are not alot of patterns for it so I will put some up probably in the next issue so be sure to come back and look.

To all who celebrate…Happy 4th. We will be going down to the fair grounds to watch the big celebration. Hope you all will enjoy some fireworks and good food.

Sorry didn’t mean to just abandon you Been trying to get things done for July 12 & 13 plus in between all of that my son is in Amtgard and I helped sew approx 200 or more covers for swords, since they are a non profit group this is how they make their money. I am getting a little bit more excited as the web site is really getting alot of hits and of course more of you are inquiring on how to submit your designs, which makes me excited. I just love everything that all of you create and I must say there certainly are alot of very creative people out there. So remember if you have something you created, please do send it in, I am interested and I do want to see it. There has been some confusion as to how to send them in so I am going to have to think of something to make it much easier for all of you to send it in. I don’t want to put my email up because there are spam bots that can just come along and grab it and trust me I don’t want to be on their lists, drives me crazy and honestly I think that all that junk actually turns people off to buying from them, well I should say it turns me off and I never read any of it anyway. I have also been thinking seriously about deleting the forum as it seems it really isn’t used so if you have a moment, tell me what you think, I will go put up a poll on the front page. Well this is it for now.

I have to get ready for Art in the Park and although I do have the majority of my stuff made I need to make more so it is July 12 & 13 so I better get busy. I was having a ball making the crocheted food and can’t wait to give it to her. I made 6 oreo’s and will start on french fries as soon as I can.

Well so far I have made a Hamburger (bun top and bottom, meat, 2 tomatoes, slice of onion, lettuce) and I ‘m working on a hot dog , then after that I think I will make her a cake or cup cakes….awww why not both. And if it doesn’t get too complicated (so far none of it is terribly complicated) I will post the patterns in the next issue. So let me know, do you want crocheted food patterns ?

Yippeee Skipppeee I found my old word press theme, that I love. Of course I changed the page logo to Crochet Queens Craftaholic Adventures, which is exactly what it is. I am thinking that maybe I am just a stick in the mud and I liked the way my first blog looked so I was not happy with all the others, I am so glad to have found it again. It isn’t as fancy as the other one but I like this one, yes I have said that a bunch. Ok on to other things. I attended Knit in public and it was a great turn out met other crafty people, always a bunch of fun. I lost my mind, brought my camera and forgot to get the card that is needed to store pictures so I did not get any pictures but maybe twistedhausfrau will feel sorry for me and shoot a couple my way so I can post them. Hopefully we will all meet in the park every saturday, my son is in Amtgard and they meet in the park on saturday so we usually go and this is our break, so many things to do around here but I’m not complaining I enjoy having a yard and growing things. I have other things up my sleeve so stay tuned to see.

I am now getting more submissions for the Fall issue, which will probably make it’s appearance probably about September, guess I really need to get my issue calendar up so you all know when to expect what and people who want to submit will know when to submit certain things. I have decided that I really don’t like this blog theme and will be on the search for another. I think I am really fickle with wordpress themes, there are so many to choose from and every time I think I have “found the one” I end up seeing something I like better…..I know I know I need to pick ONE and stick with it.

This is really exciting to see this all coming together, and the help I get from contributions pattern wise is just fantastic. I am really doing alot of thinking about weather I should get an ad rate for those who want to buy ad space, Everything cost money these days but it will be a very cheap rate, I am not looking to get rich, just basically enough to pay for the web space, don’t want to be greedy. Now of course if anyone wants to donate some yarn or books for review , feel free to. I will certainly set up a contest of some sort and that would be fun…..hmmm I probably should look in my own craft room might find something worth a contest, hahahahaha.

Well there were a few issues that I need to thank twistedhausfrau for, seems like things were not showing up for anyone but me because the date was not correct. This also led to another discovery that you can not view the site properly in IE because I then also found out that they do not want to play nice with others AGAIN. I don’t really understand that but please take a look at this www.glasspoole.com/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=190&Itemid=2 and it seems they are banking on the whole world not switching over to www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox that is free and also has all the features that IE should of had. I wish everyone would really just all play nice together, but maybe that is asking for too much. Well the site is best viewed in Firefox.

On to more exciting stuff, the first issue has crochet, knit, a tip, and a book review, cool huh ? It is all moving along nicely. Ok it isn’t EXACTLY like I want it, but I do have the content up there. What I have to figure out now is I wan’t you to be able to click on “current issue” and then see a drop down menu where you can go take a look at what you want to. Right now you click on current issue and you have to go to the bottom of the page and click on “next”, but don’t worry it may take me a couple of days to get it like I think it should be but for now, it is up. I want to thank the wonderful submissions that I did get for this issue and there are several who for time purposes, which I know this was very sudden and very fast, could not contribute this issue but they do have several things up their sleeves for the next one. Aaahhh I am so excited to be able to share all of this with you. Hope you like it, and I do want to say please respect their copyrights, it is alot of very hard work to design and write it down, no matter what you are doing.
